Sponsa Christi Variety Sale at St. Ann Church

I had 4 designs made up for a Make N Take table at my church on March 26th. It was my first time doing this. I had plenty of kits made up, but didn't have much luck with people stopping to make any cards. Then I had a youngster who asked if he could make a card. He went and asked his mom for the money and came back ready to make a card. I asked him which card he wanted to make. Well, he looked at each of the 4 designs I had ready to go, with me very eager to do this and asked if he could make his own. Well. Hmmmm I thought. I hadn't figured on this. My friend, Deanna, who was at the next table with her beautiful StampinUp display said he could use her punches and I let him at my card stock (which I had PLENTY of) and the card he came up with was sooo good! He should be on a design team! Then he came to me, could he make another one - but for free this time. I had so enjoyed seeing his pleasure in doing that card, how could I resist? So, away he went. Then, he came to me again. Could his friend make a card - for free? Yes, they could. Back he came. Could a friend of his make a card for free - but this was a different friend he clarified! I did not make much money, but I grew much richer for the experience of letting go of control and enjoying where I was - in God's home.
Here is a card that I saw an image (now, I have no idea where) and really liked. I found I had the Cuttlebug embossing folders. I pulled them out, found some card stock and made this. I stamped the Happy Birthday with VersaMard ink and used clear embossing powder. This goes to my younger sister who NEVER forgets birthdays or anniversaries. I never forget them either, but somehow don't seem to get cards sent. Now, I have found I really like making cards and hope to increase my sending them out to people.

Here are two of the four cards that I will have for the Make and Take table at our church Variety Sale on March 26th. I got the idea from the web for the purple and blue card. I did not have paper that was striped that matched, so I used my Marvy LePlume II markers and made stripes using a ruler as a guide. With this card, I picked out some fun colors for paper and then matched 4 markers and made my striped paper. I had put away my ruler and thought that I could make straight enough lines. As you can see - I was crooked! BUT I liked it. When I went to put it on the card and use the same layout as for the above card, it didn't look right. I found I needed a break and just tossed the card and 'papers' on the table and this is how they lay. I liked it a lot! So, that is why it is crooked. I used the Cuttlebug Embossing border that has buttons and used round circles for the buttons. I used glitter glue for the holes on the buttons.

Cards I have made

After watching Sandi Genovese and one of her videos, I decided that I could do that! So, I tried and was very pleased with the results. So much so, that as we had 10 gift certificates to give for Christmas gifts, I made 10 cards! I think though that maybe I should give directions on how to open cards.
Well, this is my first post. I hope to post lots more pics of cards soon. Need to take pictures of them first.
Hope you will enjoy seeing the cards that I have made.
